Job Description:

User Experience (UX) Designer

Worrell is a product development company. We are seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer with 3-5 years professional experience, and that’s all we’re going to tell you for now. Read on for an explanation.

The Reverse Job Description: Apply for the job you want!

Usually, the employment process goes something like this: The employer publishes a long list of requirements in the form of a job description. The job-seeker then regurgitates those requirements in the form of a resume and cover letter. This seems outmoded to us. It’s redundant. It’s presumptuous. It doesn’t promote growth. Besides, the job should fit you, and not the other way around.

We decided to try something a little different.

We want you to write the description for this position. For lack of a better term, we’ll call this a reverse job description. Your description should be perfectly tailored to you. This is your opportunity to inspire us. Paint a vivid picture of the kinds of skills and outputs that you, as a UX Designer would bring to our Minneapolis studio. (We do have to inject a bit of realism here. If you’re unsure whether or not you qualify as a UX Designer, a quick Google search should provide some clarity).

To get you started, here are some topic areas you could cover in your description. By no means should you feel limited by this list.

1. Key Responsibilities

2. Additional Responsibilities

3. Experience

4. Technical Skills

5. Interpersonal Skills

6. Additional Interests

Sure, this is a little more work than your typical application, but if you’ve made it this far, you’re probably not looking for a typical job.

Good luck! And now, the technical stuff:
